Start mining, step by step
Answer one or two questions. You get only the steps you need.
Where will FearMiner run?
Pick the machine that will mine: the one with the graphics card or the processor doing the work.
You are on a phone: pick the computer that will mine, then follow the steps on it.
How do you want to set it up?
Your steps with the cockpit
Open the cockpit
Open app.fearminer.com and click Create my cockpit.
Save your 12 words
The cockpit shows 12 words. Keep them in a password manager or on paper, then click I saved my 12 words. They open your cockpit on another device. They are not a crypto wallet.
Add this computer
Click Add a rig, choose your system and copy the line it shows. Your personal code is already in it.
Paste the line
Open PowerShell: right-click the Start button, then Terminal or Windows PowerShell. Paste with a right-click and press Enter.
Open Terminal: press Cmd + Space, type Terminal and press Enter. Paste with Cmd + V and press Enter.
Open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T on Ubuntu). Paste with Ctrl + Shift + V and press Enter.
FearMiner downloads, checks itself and installs. Your computer then appears in the cockpit.
Choose what it mines
In the cockpit, follow Choose what it mines: pick the coin, the pool and your wallet address.
Check that it works
The cockpit shows a hashrate, then accepted shares. The first start can take longer: some coins download files first.
The pool pays you, not FearMiner: your balance is on the pool's website, under your wallet address.
If Windows Security blocks FearMiner
Antivirus software may report a miner as HackTool or CoinMiner, whoever made it. To allow FearMiner:
- Open Windows Security, Virus & threat protection, Protection history.
- Open the FearMiner item, then Actions, Allow on device.
- Paste again and press Enter.
Allow only a FearMiner you downloaded from this page or from the cockpit.
